So it’s been a few weeks of settling into our “new normal” and finding our feet. You have probably had a few ups and downs along the way, maybe your coming out the other side now – or perhaps you are feeling more overwhelmed than ever. The kids are on school holidays, it’s Easter, we are socially isolated…..these are not easy times.
This week we are going to start simplifying things. You have settled into some sort of pattern / routine / way of life now. It might not be ideal, but that’s okay, we can work on it, one small step at a time.
Think about one area that you may be struggling with – there might be alot of areas, or you might just want to slightly tweak something – but there is ALWAYS room for improvement!
- Have I been managing to drink 2-3 litres of water per day?
- Has my daily nutrition/calorie/macro intake been adequate?
- Have I managed to move my body every day?
- Have I maintained social connections with family and/or friends?
- Have I managed to have “me” time each day, to rest/recharge or do something I enjoy?
- Have I been getting enough sleep?
Assess each area of your life, and let’s pick the one you are struggling with the most to work on this week! And as I’m always going on about – you are going to SCHEDULE that improvement into your daily routine!!! Whether it’s filling your water bottle up in the morning and aiming to finish it by a certain time, setting a reminder in your phone to call family or friends, or schedule your workouts in for the week, going to bed at a set time each night…..all these little strategies are going to help you build a better routine for yourself, strengthen your self discipline, and give you a strong sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.
